Various new features include:

• Inclusion of information regarding recent donations (message, amount, user, date)
• Inclusion of charity info & logo
• JSONP feed for cross domain requests
• JSON encapsulated error messages for ease of error handling

MSF (@M_R_F) recently implemented the JSONP feed into their Book of Experience to show donation totals and recent messages.

Justtweeting.org.uk

“JustTweeting is a simple application that links your JustGiving fundraising page to your Twitter account. It lets you set up automatic twitter updates with your JustGiving page address and fundraising totals. You can schedule these tweets to be sent daily, weekly or monthly.”

JustTweeting uses the Justgiving API for obtaining data regarding events, currently in Beta with new features incoming!

This application was conceived over a couple of beers by Big Dave and Simon. We’re part of a collective of volunteers known as the Ragabonds.

The above was recorded with a Forerunner 405, unfortunately it ran out on the way back, hence the red waypoint on the route back. You can view the log at Everytrail.

The route comprises of a quick start down from Aiguille Du Midi station, down the ridge pictured belong, then along the glacier and up to the Cosmiques Refuge.

Cosmiques Refuge

The Cosmiques refuge was the start of the summit, with an easy trip down from the Aiguille du Midi station, we had a short day the first day.

The first peak to complete was Mont Blanc du Tacul, a fairly steep climb with numerous unstable looking seracs:

Once we were down the other side of the peak it flattened out, and on the way back we stopped for a quick bit of food/water on the Col:

The next peak, Mont Maudit had the most technical bit, an ice climb at the top of the peak, pictured below.

Thoughts?

I’m heading up to Mt Everest Base Camp in April with my bro & dad for charity, we’re funding all the trip costs ourselves so any money donated will go directly to charity.

We’re heading to the Everest Base camp which is at 17,090 ft, including the Kalar Patar peak at 18,221 ft. I’ve added a few altitudes below for reference..

10miles – Running with trainers
10miles – Running with a 35lb/15kg bergen and boots
10miles – Running with a 35lb/15kg bergen and boots (as a team of 4 with bergens)

The bergen + boots option is what makes up part of the selection run, and the cut off time if you were doing it officially would be 1:50, for anyone taking part on the public run, the cut off is 3hours (or roughly 18mins/mile).

Team of four anyone? give me a shout!

Runners in the North East of England are being urged to test themselves in one of the toughest endurance races run by the world famous Parachute Regiment. The Parachute Regiment’s, ten mile (16km) ‘P’ Company selection course run produces some of the fittest and most resilient soldiers in the British Army. The extreme endurance race will take place in Catterick on Sunday 14 September 2008 and is not for the faint-hearted. It is the first time that “The Paras’ 10″ has been opened up to anyone outside of The Parachute Regiment.

Runners can compete in trainers or for those seeking an even tougher challenge, army style boots. They can carry a 35lb (16kg) bergen in either the ‘P’ Company challenge (individual) or the P Company Team Challenge (teams of four). The race course is a multi-terrain route over Catterick military training area – rolling countryside which is not normally open to the public.
